History at a Glance - A Cause for Change

In 1896, the company's founder, Halsey W. Taylor, lost his father to typhoid fever caused by contaminated water. Years later, while working as a plant superintendent for a car manufacturer, multiple cases of dysentery spread through the workforce as a result of unhealthy drinking water. These personal experiences inspired Taylor to dedicate his life to providing safe drinking water in public places.

In 1912, Taylor developed the Puritan Sanitary Fountain and began production at the original manufacturing site in Warren, OH. Halsey Taylor Announces Promotion of Bertella and Aykroyd

Oak Brook, IL-Halsey Taylor is pleased to announce the promotion of Johnnie Bertella to Director-Halsey Taylor Sales. In this new position Bertella will assume national leadership responsibility for the direction of Halsey Taylor sales programs and initiatives. He will also be responsible for the management of the Halsey Taylor sales team in the field.

Bertella joined Halsey Taylor in 1994 as the Eastern Sales Manager and has served in that position until his recent promotion. A graduate of the Univeristy of Alabama, Bertella has 20 years experience in the plumbing industry.

Concurrently, John Aykroyd has been promoted to National Sales Manager for Halsey Taylor. Oak Brook, IL---Halsey Taylor's popular line of Outdoor Water Coolers is now available with a 220-240 volt/60 hertz option. The 220 volt capabilities should make many outdoor installations easier, especially on golf courses.

"The 220 volt option allows golf courses to tap into their 220 volt irrigation wiring when supplying power to the unit, so courses no longer have to figure out how to run 120 volt wiring over long distances", said Huneycutt, Vice President of Marketing and Sales for Halsey Taylor.
